EastEnders and Bake Off stars confirmed for Traitors parody

The Traitors is about to receive a special star-studded parody for Comic Relief.

Airing in conjunction with Red Nose Day tonight (March 17), this annual TV extravaganza has the likes of Paddy McGuinness, David Tennant and Zoe Ball at the helm, but the skits on offer are primed to steal the show.

One of which features Dawn French playing the role of The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman, as she assembles the celebrity ‘Faithful’ and ‘Traitors’ for a sit-down packed with twists and turns.

Jennifer Saunders, Stephen Merchant, Dame Mary Berry, Danny Dyer and Rosie Jones, plus Maddy and Wilf from The Traitors will all gather at the roundtable, but which other famous faces will be lurking beneath the cloaks and who will be unmasked as the ultimate Traitor?

“I’m unbelievably excited about this sketch. The Traitors is the most brilliant reality show of all-time, and I hope that we can mercilessly tear it apart,” teased director Richard Curtis, who co-founded Comic Relief over 35 years ago.

“There’s a very impressive group of actors who gathered together to destroy the reputation of Claudia Winkleman and the BBC in aid of Comic Relief.”

Meanwhile, Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’s most recent victim Winkleman went on to add: “I can’t wait for people to see this sketch. I’m so grateful to Comic Relief for putting the whole thing together. I feel like I’m in an alternate universe, and I like it.”

Comic Relief kicks off at 7pm tonight (March 17) on BBC One, while The Traitors UK aired on the same channel and is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
