A MAN allegedly threatened staff and a member of the public before walking out of Sainsburys with stolen whisky.
The man stole three bottles of alcohol from the shop in the Maltings at around 5.45pm on February 24.
He initially selected five bottles from the shelves and put one inside his backpack before being challenged by a staff member.
The thief then became abusive and threatening towards the staff member.
He gave two bottles back before threatening to spit at a member of the public who intervened.
After that, he left the shop with three bottles inside his bag.
Wiltshire Police has released photographs from CCTV of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
A spokesperson said: “If you can help, call 101 and quote crime reference number 54230020703.
“Alternatively, call CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
