A Ribble Valley actor is reportedly in the running to replace Daniel Craig as 007 in the James Bond movies.
According to a national newspaper Lucien Laviscount, from Read, is rumoured to have caught the attention of movie producer Barbara Broccoli.
In a previous interview Ms Broccoli hinted a younger actor would be preferred for the role as saying that it is a “10 to 12-year commitment”; could 30-year-old Laviscount fit this criteria?
Lucien is also one of the bookies’ favourites to secure the role and Betfair has 14/1 odds of the former Ribblesdale High School and Clitheroe Royal Grammar Sixth Form pupil landing the role.
These are better odds than Game of Thrones and Bodyguard star Richard Madden (16/1), The Wire and Luther actor Idris Elba (18/1) and Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens (16/1).
Bullet Train and Kick Ass star, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, is the current front runner for the bookies at 2/1.
Lucien is best known for portraying Alfie in the Netflix show, Emily in Paris.
In April 2022, he was promoted to a series regular by the show’s executive producer, Darren Star.
At age 10, he landed a modelling campaign with Marks and Spencer, which he shot alongside David Beckham.
He starred in several TV series and soaps between 2007 and 2011, including Grange Hill, Coronation Street and Waterloo Road.
In 2011 he also landed a place in Celebrity Big Brother and came fifth overall. In the reality show, he made headlines for his persistent flirting with The Only Way is Essex’s Amy Childs.
He has also branched out into the world of American dramas, starring as Earl Grey in Fox’s Scream Queens and Alexander Caboot in Katy Keene.
Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph in 2006, Lucien said: “Hopefully I will be in Grange Hill for a few years and after that I want to get into films.
“I would love to make it big in America or Britain.”
