A Place In The Sun star Danni Menzies has been left with facial injuries after she was “taken out” by a stolen moped earlier this month.
The Channel 4 presenter was rushed to hospital after two females attempting to steal an unattended moped travelling 30mph lost control and hit the star, leaving her unconscious on the pavement.
In photos shared since the incident, the TV star looked in a daze as she sat on the pavement covered in blood after the vehicle hit her.
A source told the outlet: “She’s had a truly horrible experience.
“No one expects to be knocked unconscious while shopping at their local newsagent and the accident has left Danni in shock and fearful to leave the house.
“She’s taking time at home and her mum is by her side – but it’s been a scary ordeal. All she hopes now is to regain her confidence, take time offline to recover, and for her facial wounds to completely heal.”
The TV presenter has since been recovering at home, but has been left with post-traumatic stress disorder and post-traumatic vertigo, which is dizziness a patient suffers following a head injury.
Following the horror smash, Menzies took to her Instagram story over the weekend to inform her followers of the incident and that she’ll be offline as she recovers.
She penned across a photo of the stolen moped: “Sooooo…. On Saturday I was taken out (on the pavement!) by a stolen moped that lost control.
“Didn’t see it coming and it’s not looking pretty right now tbh.
“I’m sure I will be fine in a few weeks but in the meantime I will be a wee bit quiet on here.”
She posted a second image showing her phone with the message: “Face not recognised” which she captioned it: “Looking forward to this not being a thing.”
Since the incident, a rep for Menzies told the Evening Standard: “Danni is continuing to take it slowly and is making good progress to get back to normal.”
