Lee went on to make it clear that he didn’t want Vardy to be trolled over what he had said.
“I’ve had to block a few people – please do not send her abuse,” he tweeted.
Vardy and Rooney were embroiled in a legal battle after Rooney posted a message on Instagram accusing Vardy of leaking stories about her to the press.
Vardy sued for libel but lost her case after a High Court judge found Rooney’s post was “substantially true”.
