Neighbours legend Jackie Woodburne has revealed the souvenir she was hoping to take from the set and how other cast members were marking up items they wanted ahead of filming the last ever episode.
The 66-year-old has played Susan Kennedy for 27 years so with the soap coming to an end after almost four decades, it’s understandable that she would want to have something to remember her time.
She said: “Well, it’s funny, we were all joking about what we’re going to nick! We’re joking but we’ve got a little yellow PostIt, we’re just putting our name and sticking it on random pot plants, and little ornaments and things.
“Some people have got their eye on some major furniture. I thought about, you know the Kennedy portrait, the kid’s portrait? But then I thought, no, I think that should probably get auctioned off, or raffled off to a fan.
“I definitely will take some little memento of the Kennedys. I don’t know what, but definitely some little thing.”
The painting she was referring to painted by the late Helen Daniels (Anne Haddy) back in the 1990s after it was comissioned for her character’s birthday by onscreen husband Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher).
If it isn’t auctioned for charity then she might have some competition for it as Fletcher admitted to having designs on it too.
