The lawyer and media personality appeared on the BBC magazine programme in order to discuss her upcoming appearance on competition show Celebrity MasterChef.
Dell’Olio kept her cards close to her chest when Jones asked about her cooking abilities, declaring via Zoom that “you’ll have to watch and see” in order to see her prowess.
In response, Jones implied that Dell’Olio didn’t cook very much, asking: “Are you good at cooking though Nancy? I imagine you get a lot of takeaway? I mean, I don’t know but I’m imagining.”
Confused, Dell’Olio answered the question in good humour and said that the kitchen is “not the best room in the house” for her.
Meanwhile, in the studio, Jenas laughed at Jones for the rather direct nature of her question and chuckles broke out in the studio.
He said: “Only you could get away with that, you know? I’m guessing you get a lot of takeaway. Anyway, no one else is getting away with that.”
When the increasingly befuddled Dell’Olio asked if she had said something wrong, Jenas said: “No, no, you were spot on. Just typical Jonesy.”
Dell’Olio, who rose to fame in the noughties as the girlfriend of then-England manager Sven-Göran Eriksson, appeared on The One Show alongside fellow Celebrity MasterChef contestants Danny Jones and Paul Chuckle.
The upcoming series also features the likes of Love Island contestant Faye Winter, boxer Chris Eubank, actor Ryan Thomas and presenters Lisa Snowdon and Kirsty Gallacher.
Last year’s edition of the celebrity cooking competition was won by Paralympic athlete Kadeena Cox, while previous winners include Nadia Sawalha, Ade Edmondson and Greg Rutherford.
Celebrity Masterchef 2022 is due to begin on 10 August on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
