The ITV2 dating contest is one of the biggest shows on TV and draws in huge numbers of viewers addicted to the drama each summer.
But when can we expect the launch of series eight – and who is taking part?
When does Love Island 2022 start?
There’ll be no back-to-work blues after the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend, as Monday, 6 June has been named as the launch date for Love Island.
Series eight of the dating show is set to begin at 9pm on ITV2 and then repeat at the same time every night, with a highlights show on the Saturday of each week.
When is the Love Island 2022 final?
As yet, the date of the final hasn’t been announced.
However, it’s expected to be sometime in August, and if the series runs at the same length as the past few it should be around 58 or 59 days long, putting the final in the first few days of August.
Love Island 2021 finished in late August as it had a later start date at the end of June.
Who are the Love Island 2022 contestants?
The singles hoping to follow in the footsteps of last year’s winning couple Millie Court and Liam Reardon have been announced by ITV.
Eleven contestants have been confirmed so far: Six boys — Dami Hope, Liam Llewellyn, Davide Sanclimenti, Ikenna Ekwonna, Andrew Le Page and Luca Bish – and five girls — Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma Owen, Paige Thorne, Indiyah Pollock, Tasha Ghouri, and Amber Beckford.
With an uneven number of couples available, one boy will be left out in the cold at the start of the series. Expect more names to join the villa as the show progresses.
Where is Love Island filmed?
For the first time in four Love Island summers, the action is set to take place in a brand new villa.
The last four summer series were filmed at Sant Llorenç des Cardassar in Mallorca (the one and only winter series was filmed in South Africa), but the villa sold to a new owner for £3million.
A Love Island crew has been racing to complete the transformation of their new Mallorcan villa which has a more rustic feel but an equally beautiful rural setting.
